Department of Agricultural Engineering & Processing

The Department agricultural of Engineering and Technology has the mandate to develop and offer tailor-made programmes in the fields of Agricultural Engineering and Food Processing. Currently, the Department is involved in training of courses in Agricultural Engineering, irrigation, Soil and Water Conservation, Surveying, Farm Structures. The department is also involved in community outreach through participation in Field days, Agricultural Shows, community based projects and Demonstrations

To provide quality Training, Research Innovation and Outreach for advancement of humanity


  • To train undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that allow the students to become professionals and leaders in agricultural and process Engineering
  • To improve the quality and quantity of agricultural products, such as human food, animal feed, fuel and fiber production for increased food security
  • To offer solutions in soil and water conservation, irrigation systems, water supply and adaptations of climate change
  • To take lead in agricultural and processing structures, as well as value addition through food processing and application of post harvest technology
  • To conduct research and offer extension services to mankind in order to transform their livelihoods
  • To provide a platform for effective collaboration in research and knowledge dissemination among the public, private, NGOs and other interested institutions.
